Understand the Compounding Effect of Money

The compounding effect of money is extremely important when making any financial decision. Compounding effect of money is often overlooked or underestimated by people when making decisions. When applied to all of your financial decisions, this effect is the KEY to long-term success!

To illustrate the compounding effect of money, let me use some financial examples:

Suppose you had invested $1,000 today in a 5% savings account. In one year, that account would be worth $1,050 [$1,000 + ($1,000 x 5%)], yielding a $50 gain. However, in year two, that same initial investment would be worth $1,102.50 [$1,000 + ($1,000 x 5%) + ($1,050 x 5%)], yielding a $52.50 gain. And in year three, the same $1,000 would be worth $1,157.63, yielding a $55.13 gain. By year ten, the initial $1,000 investment would be worth $1,629 and by year 25 it would be worth $3,386.

From looking at this example, you can see that investing $1,000 today is much more valuable than investing $1,000 even a couple of years from now. To accumulate wealth, you MUST use the time value of money and the compounding effect of money to your advantage. Click here to see how long it will take to save a million dollars.

This second example shows how the compounding effect can work against you:

Suppose you borrowed $20,000 to purchase a car and your auto loan was at a 10% interest rate (for 5 years). Your monthly payments would be $424.94. Because the $20,000 loan continues to compound over the life of the loan, you actually pay $25,496.45 over the five-year period, meaning that you’ve in essence paid $5,496.45 because you spent the money before you had it. In fact, in your initial payments, the interest alone will account for almost 40% of your monthly payments. In this case, the bank or lender that gave you the loan uses the time value of money to their advantage.

The third scenario to show the positive effects of compounding effects:

Now look at this scenario, where instead of making the $424.94 car payment, you invest that payment at the same rate as what your car loan was (granted it’s a little high for a savings rate, but not unreasonable for other investments). Instead of paying the bank, you are actually earning interest and compounding the benefit yourself now.

After one year you will have saved $5,340 and have earned $240 in interest. After two years, you will have saved $11,239 and have earned $1,039 in interest. By the third year, your investments will be worth almost $18,000 and you will have earned $2,457 in interest. By month 40, you will have enough money to purchase a $20,000 car in cash!

So let’s weigh the differences between the two scenarios above. In the first case you paid the bank $5,496 to borrow the money and in the second case you earned $2,457 and could buy the car in cash after just 40 months (just over 3 years)! The opportunity cost of the first alternative versus the second alternative results in a net difference of $7,953 (a $2,457 gain versus a $5,496 loss). That means that by making a simple deferral decision (buying the car in 3 years versus today), you can get ahead by almost $8,000!

Google SEO Tips on Content Updates

Content Updating is Getting More Important

Google's ranking algorithm has never been consistent, recently, I discover that the frequency of content updating on blog and website is getting more useful in increasing Google ranking as it uses to be. I think it started about a month ago.

The search term "make money online" is a good example to strengthen my point. If you often use this search term, you'll notice the websites listed in top 10 result fluctuate from time to time. The frequent fluctuations have lead to websites with decent number of back links that have stayed in first page for long period of time gradually one by one drop from top 5 to top 10 and from top 10 to top 20; and allowing more blog with frequent content update to get into top 10 listing. I have been in the niche of "make money online" for more than a year and never see it happens this way. It is obvious that Google has changed their ranking algorithm again and place more weight on content.

So if your website have experienced a drop in Google and you think that you have not done anything wrong. The frequency of content updating may be one of the main reasons. You may take a look at your competitors website to see whether they have started adding fresh content often. If yes, you may think about updating your site in on going basis as well. It will give you a better chance in re-gaining your Google ranking.

How to write a good article body

Ideally, the article should be at least 400 words. The reason why we want to go for this length of words is because article directories now have a minimum article length requirement. It should contain the introduction paragraph, the body content broken up into 3 or 4 paragraphs and the concluding paragraph.

This is your chance to convince your reader that you are an expert in the field. So work on getting unique content. Even though you are writing articles online, you can still search for material in the libraries or bookstores. There is a high chance that your content would be unique and informational.

The purposes of your article writing exercise are to promote your credibility, pre-sell your readers and to lead them to your website. Think along that line but please do not write your article like an advertisement. Always remember to conclude your article with a reason or benefit that your readers would find if they proceed to your website.

How to write article keywords.

Many writers make this big mistake of not preparing a list of keywords to target. They totally missed the point and advantage on online article writing. In the internet world, anyone with an article optimized for a target keyword can rank high in the search engine. It really does not matter whether you are a complete newbie, nobody or famous person. Search engines only recognize well-written and well-optimized articles.

The result of a well written article with keywords are that the articles get read hundreds of times and people are still going to read it eventhough you have already forgotten you wrote it in the first place. Use your keywords in the article title, article body and article conclusion. Go for a keyword density of between 1 to 2 percent and most likely you will attract more readers than you could ever imagined!

Blog Money

I believe by now you should have looked at a number of popular affiliate programs for bloggers and today I’d like to give a few tips that should help bloggers get the best results out of any affiliate program that they choose to run with.

1. Consider your Audience

It almost goes without saying - but it’s worth putting yourself in your reader’s shoes and considers what they might be looking for as they surf by your blog. Are they shopping for specific products? Might they be looking for related products or accessories? What would trigger them to purchase? Start with your reader in mind rather than the product. If you take this approach you could end up doing your reader a favor as well as making a few dollars on the side.

2. Genuine Recommendations and personal endorsements always work best

There are literally hundreds of thousands of products and services for you to choose from to recommend to your blog’s readers but making money from them is not as simple as randomly adding links to them from your blog. Your blog’s readers come back to your blog day after day because something about you resonates with them - they have at least some level of trust and respect for you and perhaps the quickest way to destroy this is to recommend that they buy something that you don’t fully believe will benefit them.

The best results I’ve have from affiliate programs which I joined through my last blog are where I give an open and honest appraisal of the product - including both its strengths and weaknesses. The review not only tells readers who I believe the book is for but I also mention those it is NOT for. In a sense I critique it. On a surface level one might think that this wasn’t a wise move and that I should have given a glowing review - however the sales that I’ve had through the program have proven otherwise. People want to know what they are buying first and even if they know a product has limitations they will buy it if it meets their particular need.

3. Link to Quality Products

We all like to make sure we’re buying the best products money can buy - your readers are no different to this and are more likely to make a purchase if you’ve found them the best product for them. Choose products and companies with good reputations and quality sales pages. There is nothing worse than giving a glowing review of a product only to send your reader to a page that looks cheap and nasty.

4. Contextual Deep Links work Best

When I started using the Amazon Associate Program I naively thought that all I had to do was put an Amazon banner ad (that linked to Amazon’s front page) at the top of my blog. I thought that my readers would see it and surf over to Amazon and buy up big - thereby making me a rich man. Nothing could have been further from reality - I was deluding myself.

I always say to bloggers that I’m consulting with that they should learn something from contextual advertising when it comes to affiliate programs. The secret of contextual ads like Adsense is that a reader is reading a post on a particular topic on your blog and when they see an advertisement for that same product they are more likely to click it than if they saw an ad for something else. The same is true for affiliate programs. A banner to a general page on every page on your site won’t be anywhere near as effective as multiple links throughout your blog those advertiser products that are relevant for readers reading particular parts of your blog.

So if you’re writing a blog about MP3 players and have a review for a particular product - the most effectively affiliate program that you could link to from within the content of that page would be one that links directly to a page selling that specific model of MP3 player. This is how I use the Amazon program today. It is more work than contextual advertising because you’re not just putting one piece of code into a template but rather need to place individual links on many pages - but I find that it’s been worth the effort.

5. Consider positioning of links

One of the things I go on and on about with Adsense optimization is the positioning of ads. I found out from my previous experience that to position ads in the hotspots on pages (like the top of a left hand side bar - or inside content - or at the end of posts above comments etc) is more effective. The same principles are true for affiliate advertising.

6. Traffic levels are Important

While it’s not the only factor - traffic levels are obviously the key when it comes to making money from almost any online activity. The more people that see your well placed, relevant and well designed affiliate links the more likely it is that one of them will make a purchase. So don’t just work on your links - work on building a readership. Not only this, consider how you might direct traffic on your blog toward pages where they are more likely to see your affiliate links.

7. Diversify without Clutter

Don’t put all your affiliate efforts into one basket. There are plenty of products out there to link to so there is no need to just work on one. At the same time you shouldn’t clutter your blog up with too many affiliate program links. If you do so you run the risk of diluting the effectiveness of your links and could disillusion your readership.

8. Be Transparent

Don’t try to fool your readers into clicking links that could make you money. While it may not always feasible to label all affiliate links I think some attempt should be made to let people know what type of link they are clicking on. I also think consistency is important with this so readers of your blog know what to expect. For example here at Blogger usually put a note beside or under affiliate links to simply let readers know that that is what they are. On my previous, I don’t do this because of the large number of such links make it clear by the text around the link that clicking on it will take them to some sort of shop or information where a purchase is possible (i.e. a link my say ‘buy the XXX product’ or ‘get the latest product on XXX’.

9. Combine with other Revenue Streams

Affiliate programs and advertising programs are not mutually exclusive things. I’ve come across a few people recently who have said they don’t want to do affiliate linking because it will take the focus off their Adsense ads. While there is potential for one to take the focus off the other - there is also real potential for both to work hand in hand as different readers will respond to different approaches. You should consider the impact that your affiliate links have on other revenue streams - but don’t let one stop the other.

10. Track results

Most affiliate programs have at least some type of tracking or statistics package which will allow you to watch which links are effective. Some of these packages are better than others but most will at least allow you to see what is selling and what isn’t. Watching your results can help you plan future affiliate efforts. Keep track of what positions for links work well, which products sell, what wording around links works well etc and use the information that you collect as you work plan future affiliate strategies.

What tips would you give someone getting into affiliate programs? What has worked well for you? What hasn’t? Share you experience and ideas on affiliate programs below.

6 more free steps to making money online

If you read my previous article you will know that the goal of these articles is to teach you ways to get started making money online without having to spend any money.

Of course, the hard part is to get traffic to your site, but once the matter is addressed you can start to think ways to get money or make money online freely!

There are endless ways of making money once you have traffic, and your blog will get you traffic. The income we will be looking at today will come from Google Adsense.

There are multiple benefits to having a blog including the low cost (or no cost), the resources that will help you get traffic to your blog and the fact that you can provide your blog as an RSS feed. An RSS feed will allow readers to automatically receive your updates into their RSS reader.

Let's get started with our 6 steps.

1. Set up your blog. You will need to decide what you are going to blog about. You should decide on a theme and name your blog appropriately.

There are a number of free ways to set up a blog & to have it hosted for free. We will go with Blogger.com for our first blog.

Blogger will allow you to set up a blog for free they will host it for free and they will ping search engines every time you update, meaning you will get spidered & found.

Visit blogger.com & click the button on the front page labelled 'create your blog now' then follow the step by step instructions that Blogger provide.

Some key settings you will want to get right are:

I) 'Host your blog at Blogger' = Yes
II) 'Add your blog to our listings' = Yes
III) 'Ping Weblogs.com' = Yes
IV) 'Publish Site Feed' = Yes

2. Write some content. Before we move any further there has to be some information on the site & that means that you have to make some entries. You can write some of these entries yourself & some can be quotes from sites of interest to your reader that you can post using the Google Toolbar.

You can download the Google toolbar for free at toolbar.google.com. The toolbar includes a Blogger button. When you visit a site that has something of interest to your readers you can highlight the appropriate text & click the Blogger button. The content will then be added to your blog along with a link back to the site.

3. Once you have some content eg a weeks worth of blogging with 1 or 2 entries for everyday, you can apply for an adsense account. When you sign in to Blogger you will see an invitation to join Adsense. Use this link and apply for an account.

You can find out all about Adsense on the Adsense page but basically you get Google ads on your site & get paid if your visitor clicks them.

Google will decide what adverts show on your site based on the content it finds within.

You need to be aware that Google will decline your application if your site is not considered to have content. Nobody outside of Google knows the precise rules on this.

Once you have been accepted you can get some javascript from Google to add to you site. Copy this & then log in to Blogger.

Once you have logged into your blog you will see that one of the tabs across the top of the screen is labelled 'Template'. Click this. You will need to know a little bit of HTML to help find the right location to paste your Google code. But with a little experimentation you will find the right place for you. See the resource box at the end of this article for more help.

I would suggest that the ads need to be seen when the site loads but should not be too obvious or dominate your site.

4. Write some more content. Try and keep your content coming at regular intervals as a number of directories will check on your site at regular intervals & the smarter ones will visit on a schedule based on your update schedule. They will probably determine this in the hours after you first submit to them. Which is what we will do next.

5. Submit your site to Blog & RSS directories. Because you are hosting at Blogger, Weblogs.com will already be notified when you update your blog. (That means that every time you make a new entry they are automatically notified) You will need to manually submit to the various other directories some of which will require a link on your site to theirs.

You can add these links to your template below your Blogger logo. For a list of directories to get you started visit www.themoneyseed.com/rss

6. Keep writing interesting content. Ideally you want people to come back again and again. As with customers its harder to get a new visitor than to keep existing visitors. So make it interesting, in fact make it so interesting that they can't help but tell all their friends about it also.

As with most free ways to make money this will take time to get going, but if you can build a following you will make money.

Income Options Through Pay Per Click

Pay per click search engines and pay per click advertising provides web site owners the opportunity to buy their way to better positions on search results pages. Learn about pay per click, the costs, and if it is a viable option for your site.

1. What Is Pay Per Click?

Pay per click advertising on search engines allows you choose keywords you would like your site to appear for when a search is performed. You decide how much you are willing to pay each time a person clicks on the search results. The more you are willing to pay per click, the higher your site will appear in the results for the keywords you choose.

2. Which Search Engines Allow Pay Per Click Advertising?

There are hundreds of pay per click search engines.

Generally, the larger the pay per click search engine, the more you will have to bid to get to the top for your keywords. This is why it is worth investigating different search engines to find what it would cost to bid on your keywords and how much traffic they draw.

The largest companies in the pay per click industry are Yahoo! and Google. Google is not a pay per click search engine, but it does provide pay per click advertising in text ad boxes to the right of search results it delivers. It also delivers pay per click ads to other content sites.

In addition to the general pay per click search engines, you may also be able to find thematic search engines that serve your industry or specifically cater to your target audience.

3. Important Considerations

A very important point to keep in mind with pay per click is you must test, test, and test some more. Don't start off with a major investment. Start with the minimum and see how the search engine performs in terms of the traffic it delivers and how well that traffic converts into paying customers.

An essential part of your testing is having a method in place that allows you to track your return on money invested.

For example, if your goal is to bring in new subscribers to your newsletter, you could direct visitors arriving from your pay per click link to a subscription form set up just for them. You can then monitor how many clicks actually result in a new subscription. As such, you will know how much you are paying for each new subscriber.

Before spending any money with a pay per click search engine, be sure they can answer the following questions:

# How many searches a month are performed at the search engine?

# What major search partners or affiliates does the search engine have?

# How many searches are generated each month by the search partners or affiliates?

# Is it possible to opt out of having your listing appear in the results of the affiliate sites?

# What fraud prevention mechanisms are in place?

# What is the procedure for filing a "fraudulent clicks" report?

# Will an account be credited for fraudulent clicks discovered?

# Is it possible to opt out of having a listing appear for searches originating from specific countries?

# Is there a posted terms of service for search partners or affiliates. Look for search engines that have very strict guidelines for dealing with their search affiliates. This is important because you want to be sure the search engine is working hard to prevent fraud among its affiliates.

Whar is Adwords? AdSense’s Fraternal Twin?

AdSense is one of the best ways to monetize your web traffic. People see those little “Ads by Gooogle” tidbits and they click like crazy. Or at least that’s the plan. But have you ever given though to where those ads are coming from? That would be AdWords, the Pay-Per-Click program for people who want to advertise their products on Google.

They are the fine men and women who are willing to part with some coin of the realm every time a visitor to your web site chooses to click on an AdSense ad. Google grabs the cash from the AdWords' member’s account, keeps some of it for themselves, and gives the rest to you. How much they keep and how much give away is a State secret, but who cares, just as long as we’re getting ours each month.

How AdWords Works

AdWords provides pay-per-click advertising to merchants who are willing to shell out anywhere from a minimum 05 .05 per click all the way up to a maximum of $100 per click. Can you imagine anyone paying $100 just to have someone click on an ad?

Anyway, the advertiser joins the AdWords program and gets a control panel similar to the one that we AdSense users get. They can write their ads, pick their keywords, and establish an advertising budget. They get tools to track performance as well as to help them pick keywords. There are no monthly minimum spends required and they can turn their ads on and off at will.

Once an advertiser is happy with their ad, it gets released to the network and shows up on web sites like yours and mine. That’s if the keywords on your site match the keyword requirements of the brand spanking new ad, of course.

They can’t “buy” their way to the top

Google doesn’t simply push the people with the highest paying ads to the top of the SERP (Search Engine Results Page). They use a rather fair methodology that takes into consideration not only the maximum CPC (cost per click), but also includes a secret recipe for determining an ad’s placement based upon the number of clicks the ad receives. So, at least in theory, an ad paying .05 per click could rise above one paying $5.00 per click if it’s more popular with Google’s audience.

I say “in theory” because if the owner of the $5 ad is paying attention then he or she will see that they are being bested by a lowly nickel ad and do some serious rewriting to get back up to the top where they belong.

Personally, I’m not sure that I have the guts to invest a lot of money into hoping that people who click on my ad will actually buy something, since I still have to pay Google whether I make a sale or not. But, as a dedicated AdSense user, I’m sure glad that my AdWords brothers and sisters have more nerve than I do. And you should be thankful as well.

How To GenerateTraffic to Your Blog.

Traffic, the thing that any blog operator would want more than everything he or she could imagine. The true income generator of blog it is.

A blog without traffic is not a blog. It is a pile of dump where no one seems to bother except for the smell and interruptions it cause. So how can you generate traffic to your site?

Comment.

The most simple thing that have been recommended to me by a fellow blog enthusiasts is to write comment at other blogs and at the end of the comment, put a link back to your site. i tried it on a few occasion and it work although it is hard to find a blog that will allow you publicly put link back to your site.

The place where you want to put these links should be on the blog which has only started to kick off, and of course, the one that have high numbers of readers. It may be tiresome but believe me, if you want to look more content for your site and at the same time boost numbers of readers of your site, do it hard or you will just make a mess.

One thing should be remembered though, you really have to post numbers of comments because there are only small possibilities for people to read your comment and click on the link. According to Steve on his website, only 1% of his 1 million readers wrote comment and less reads it.

The odds are small, but still possible, depending on the amount of comment that you post and the theme of the blog itself. My personal recommendation is not to post comments on site which have small numbers of comment and always, try to be the first commenter. You should also avoid blogs that delete links to other sites as it will only prove to be a waste of time.

Blog Carnival.

This is a place where you can post and get multiple streams of visitors to your site in no time. It is where you put numerous posts into one called “carnival”. Skeptical? Its alright to be so, but time will prove to you that it works. Mine did and why can’t yours be?

You just need to be careful on which carnival you want to join. Pick yours nicely and you are on you way to skyrocketed traffic streams. Determine the themes of your post and the rest is as easy as 1 2 3. Plus, its free and what is better than being free yet have no restriction of usage?

Article Panda.

Article Panda have similar modus operandi as Blog carnival, except that instead of combining post, you just need to put a snippets at article panda and a link to your site will be provided each time a user search using Google. And it is also free!

Pyramid Scheme Or Wealth Generator.

Pyramid scheme can best be defined as “a non-sustainable business model that involves the exchange of money primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme, usually without any product or service being delivered” according to wikipedia. But to simplify it, it is a system that uses other people money to make other rich.

By now, you must have think that i am talking gibberish but am i? Or are you one of those pyramid scheme operator? I have previously join numerous pyramid scheme that you can’t differentiate whether it is true legitimate business or is it that nonsense pyramid scheme.

Unlike what was defined by wikipedia, the schemes that i join have products of their own which you must market to ensure you get a portion of the wealth created. How do I know it is a pyramid scheme?

Once the price start to sky rocket and the first comers (the operator, of course) start to lay off their secrets and more people are complaining about the price that is. The idea is simple, they needed something to break the chain of income so that they don’t have to pay anyone anymore and keep the entire membership fee.

This is how much of pyramid scheme are operated nowadays, at first, it will seems as if they are selling a product but in the end, the operator who claim to be honest, very entrepreneurs oriented people, cheat on everybody that have put their trust on.

It is all about the money, the wealth and those dreaded looks on the face of fools including me. That is the sad reality, is that there are no wealth generator schemes available but pyramid scheme which in the end will eat you up till your pocket runs out of cash.

The true wealth generator in fact is your brain, so use it wisely and may it reward you.

The Taste of Innovation.

Today’s fast changing climate of the internet is munching the way we use to quench the thirst of readers. It’s a risky deal, it a dog eat dog world, and it’s everything to eccentric lovers of heavenly readings.

But what can be considered as innovation in a blog? Is it the appearance or just something else?

Everything, that’s the answer!

Life that we have today will never be the same tomorrow because we always find better way to understand ourselves and innovate the way we think. These principles should be applied to our blog too.

The appearance in the first hand shouldn’t be the old same white and black or the nineties green and white. The colour, the picture and those headlines should be vague but not to much, theme based yet sensible for others to read.

Never the less important is your posting, reader’s expectation is high, demanding and unmerciful so innate yourself and your thinking because as we all are aware of, without innovative post which makes u differ from any other blog in the web, its worthless to spend even a minute on it.

Blogging For Riches.

How many of you have heard of the saying, blogging for riches? If you answered yes to that question, wonderful, you can go read something else now. But if you haven’t heard of it, that means you’re missing out, and I’m here to make sure that you get with it.

Blog is a site where writers, like me and maybe you, read and grab the latest news and of course, publish one or two. And its also a place where you, as a blogger can make a little money by posting different reviews for various advertisers. If you want your blog to start earning some serious money, then you have to start doing paid reviews (although there are other ways), but if you’re still new to the blogging scene its going to be a bit hard to get advertisers to buy directly from you, and that’s why you need to start looking into programs like PayPerPost(PPP).

Reviews
There are two ways that you can make money from writing reviews. The first way is by using PPP direct, and the second is the Marketplace.

PPP direct is a service whereby an advertiser can order a review straight from your blog. Doing things this way has many advantages, the most obvious being that you can set your own price, and it looks cool to have a ‘Hire Me’ banner on your blog. On the downside, its very, very hard for a new blog to get any reviews this way, and when one finally comes in you have to give half of your revenue to PPP, so if you are charging 20 dollars per review you only end up with 10.

The marketplace is a great starting point for any new blogger. Here you can accept offers from many advertisers, so its not dependent on them picking you. Sometimes advertisers place minimum criteria for reviewing blogs, but there are still many offers that a blog with no rank can participate in. This is a great opportunity for you to strut your stuff, if you have a good writing style and ideas of what you will be reviewing, then you might find it much easier to get specifically hired in the future. These offers obviously don’t pay as much as if you were setting your own price, but after all, beggars can’t be choosers.

Register
Registering easy as long as you meet their criteria. To qualify and submit reviews for PayPerPost, you must at least:

1. Have a blog at least 90 days old with minimum 20 post with no gaps over 30 days.
2. All related information (post, widgets and features) must be in English.
3. You have to be prepared to disclose your relationship with PayPerPost.

Once your blog meets these criteria, usually after 4 to 7 days, you can submit your reviews. After thats done you just sit back and wait for your blog to be approved, generally it takes 2 to 3 days for approval.

Affiliate Program
PPP has a great affiliate program that you should use to make even more extra cash. If you sign somebody up without them doing a review you get 15 dollars instead of 7.50 once they get approved. Choose wisely guys.

If you still haven’t signed up for PPP yet, I really suggest that you do that now. The benefits far outway any excuses you might have. If you want some immediate results you might want to start by reviewing one of my posts and getting paid for it. You really have nothing to lose. Believe me, try it.
